Riding along the Friendship Highway, you will move towards Everest Base Camp. Further, you will take a long descend and reach the former home of the Dalai Lama. On the way to EBC, you will cross 5 high passes exceeding 4,500 meters. The path is 80% tarmac road and 20% non-technical off-road. As you will be riding a motorbike, the journey becomes easier. During your stay in the city, you will visit many cultural heritage sites, where you will get to know the history and traditions of Tibetans.

Motorbike Ride in Tibet

You can also ride your own motorbike in Tibet. However, before that there are a few documents, you need to complete. We will help you with that. Once you provide all the necessary papers for your motorbike, we will issue a motorbike permit for you. 

The Best Time To Go for EBC Motorbike Tour

You can go on Everest Base Camp Motorbike Tour throughout the year. Still, spring and autumn are the most favorable time of the year to go on this tour in Tibet. the climate is pleasant and the views are also excellent. Winter (December to February) is not recommended to go on the tour, as cold weather makes the journey tough.

Tibet Visa & Travel Permit Information

You have to stay in Nepal for at least three days to get the Tibetan visa. Your original passport, a single copy of the photo, and a completed embassy form with your details are needed to apply for the visa. The embassy form, we will provide you. Likewise, you have to send us to scan a copy of your passport, license, and motorbike blue book (if you are renting from us, then we will give this) at least a month ago for Tibet Travel Permit, self-ride permit, and other formalities. 

Motorbike Permits In Tibet

Riding to Everest Base Camp from Tibet requires special permits that we will arrange for you. If you are traveling with us, we will take care of all formalities, permits, and documents. You have to get Tibet Travel Permit, Tibet Visa, Motorbike Permit, Self-Riding Permit, and Immigration Deposit to go on the Everest Base Camp Motorbike trip. In case, you have Chinese Visa, then it gets canceled while taking Tibet Visa in the Chinese Embassy, Kathmandu, Nepal. We will provide you professional government license holder as a tour guide. He will take care of everything in all the check-points. 

Documentation

  1. Scan copy of passport with 6 months of validity
  2. International driving license
  3. Bluebook of the bike with 5 empty pages (if you are renting from us, then we will give this)
  4. Other bike details (if you are renting from us, then we will give this)
  5. Photograph of the bike with front and back number
  6. Your picture for the visa (White background visa picture at the time of you handover your original passport)
  7. Original passport upon arrival in Kathmandu
  8. Custom deposit payment slip or any other documents provided by Nepali custom while entering in Nepal from India through any borders (only for people who uses Indian borders to enter in Nepal with their bike)

Upon joining, each participant will be sent a list of required and recommendedgear for this journey that they will be responsible for.

In Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse and Saga, you will be staying in comfortableandpleasant locally-rated 3 or 4 Star Tibetan-owned hotels. At Lake Manasarovar and alongthetrekaround Mt. Kailash, accommodations will be very simple guesthouses as these areas areveryremote and poor. Guesthouses have no heat, but plenty of blankets. Toilets are usuallyoutsideand are not always clean. Showers are often unavailable at guesthouses or are available at alocal
shower house that is not attached to the hotel. Hotel upgrades available in Lhasa upon request.

Breakfast is included in the price for each morning you are in lhasa and shigatse. Lunchand dinner are not included in the price.

Participants must be in good health and be able to spend each day walkingaroundtowns, villages and monasteries. Most of this tour will take place in mountainous terrain between3600 meters and 5200 meters (11,800 feet to 17,000 feet) above sea level. The 3 day trekaroundMt. Kailash is 52 kilometers long and will take 3 days to complete. This trek is beautiful, but isquite demanding as the high pass rises to 5630 meters (18,465 feet). You will spend 3 nightsinLhasa for altitude acclimatization before going above 3600 meters. Ascent will be slowandgradual along the way from Lhasa to Mt. Kailash.
