Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Lhasa. Over night at Balangxue hotel 3* which is a located old town

Day 2

Lhasa sightseeing . Overnight at Balangxue hotel 3* Drepung, Sera monastery

Day 3

Lhasa sightseeing Overnight at Balangxue hotel 3* Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, Bakor market

Day 4

Lhasa-Ganden-Tsubshi-Yama-do (trekking 2 to 3 hours,7km)

Day 5

Yama-do-Tsotup Chu Valley (trekking 5 to 6hours,10km)

Day 6

Tsotup Chu Valley-Herder's Camp (trekking 5 to 6 hours,14km)

Day 7

Herder's Camp-Yamalung (trekking 6 hours,15km)-Samye Overnight at samye monastery hotel simple

Day 8

Tsedang sightseeing Overnight at Yarlong hotel or similar 3*

Day 9

Tibet departure

  • All necessary travel permits in Tibet.
  • All entrance fees to temples, monasteries and palaces.

  • All environmental fees to lakes, glaciers and National Parks.

  • Accommodation on a double room basis with breakfast described in the itinerary above.

  • Experienced Tibetan guide in Tibet (English language).

  • Transportation in Tibet (Airport / train station group pick up & drop off).

  • Driver and guide’s food and accommodation. Vehicle fuel, tools and vehicle repairs (if necessary).

  • Oxygen tank for emergencies & bottled mineral water available in the group vehicle (fair use).

  • Porters / yaks to carry baggage during the trek. Full board during trekking days, with cook and assistant.

  • Non-personal trekking equipment (tents, mattress,, cooking tools, etc.)

  • Welcome dinner.

  • China VISA
  • Plane or train tickets in / out of Tibet.

  • Meals, drinks and any other personal expenses.

  • Personal trekking equipment (sleeping bag, trekking poles, clothes, etc.)

Upon joining, each participant will be sent a list of required and recommendedgear for this journey that they will be responsible for.

In Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse and Saga, you will be staying in comfortableandpleasant locally-rated 3 or 4 Star Tibetan-owned hotels. At Lake Manasarovar and alongthetrekaround Mt. Kailash, accommodations will be very simple guesthouses as these areas areveryremote and poor. Guesthouses have no heat, but plenty of blankets. Toilets are usuallyoutsideand are not always clean. Showers are often unavailable at guesthouses or are available at alocal
shower house that is not attached to the hotel. Hotel upgrades available in Lhasa upon request.

Breakfast is included in the price for each morning you are in lhasa and shigatse. Lunchand dinner are not included in the price.

Participants must be in good health and be able to spend each day walkingaroundtowns, villages and monasteries. Most of this tour will take place in mountainous terrain between3600 meters and 5200 meters (11,800 feet to 17,000 feet) above sea level. The 3 day trekaroundMt. Kailash is 52 kilometers long and will take 3 days to complete. This trek is beautiful, but isquite demanding as the high pass rises to 5630 meters (18,465 feet). You will spend 3 nightsinLhasa for altitude acclimatization before going above 3600 meters. Ascent will be slowandgradual along the way from Lhasa to Mt. Kailash.
